Each person will complete one section of the 32nd Dems questionnaire, at the meeting we will break up into groups for each section, discuss the items we liked or had difficulty answering.  Each group will be moderated by a candidate who has already done this for the endorsement process.

Panel Discussion on Point Wells and Endorsment Consideration in King County Executive race

For the main program portion of the meeting our guests will be: Point Wells Panel members:  King County Councilmember Bob Ferguson; Snohomish County Councilmember Mike Cooper; Shoreline Mayor Cindy Ryu; Woodway Town Councilmember Elizabeth Mitchell; Edmonds City Councilman Steve Bernheim.  . 

 Program: Goal is to educate attendees on the various issues surrounding the Point Wells property.

 Also, consideration of endorsement of candidate(s) running for King County Executive, beginning with a report from the 32nd LD Endorsement Committee on results from candidate interviews.

6:45 - 7:00 pm: Sign-in 7:00 pm: Call to Order • Flag Salute • Approval of previous meeting minutes • Approval of proposed agenda • Announcements Program The 32nd District Democrats Present: “Cascades Wild: A Puget Headwaters Initiative” Rebecca Wolfe – Chair, Sierra Club Snohomish Cascade Chapter Tom Hammond - North Cascades Conservation Council After years of effort, a coalition of environmental groups succeeded in getting 106,000 new acres of wilderness protected in 2008. With legislative support from Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Rick Larsen, they finally passed the “Wild Sky Wilderness Bill.” Wilderness advocates now want to protect the remaining unprotected roadless public lands in the North Cascades. Similar efforts are underway for the Olympic Peninsula.

Come and find out why this initiative to protect public lands in the North Cascades is so urgently needed at this time. Glacier researcher Tom Hammond and Sierra Club activist Rebecca Wolfe will present the PowerPoint program of the Cascades Wild Outreach Team and invite your questions.
